Yesterday morning there was much squealing to be heard outside when I discovered my first Araucana* egg! Kind of a drab green, but it’s a start!
And this morning…slightly less squealing of a second green egg! A different shade, so I am guessing a different hen, or maybe the first hen didn’t have her color palette quite together yet… There are 3 or 4 hens whose combs are larger than the rest, but I don’t know exactly who is laying them, and don’t feel it is necessary to check vents to figure it out.
The hens are 6 months almost to the day that the egg laying starting. Good internal clock, Ladies!
*I’ve decided they are Americanas, not the true Araucanas, as mine have tails.
